ITINERARY:

Day 1 Arrive Cusco
Cusco, Heart of an Empre.  With an enchanting maze of cobbled streets and lively sidewalk cafes dotting the sun-splashed central square, Cusco is a welcoming city with a unique blend of Inca, Quechua, and Spanish heritage.  On a private walking tour tailored to your interests, discover Cusco's fascinating back streets and lively traditional markets, and roam the artisans' quarter of San Blas.

Day 2 Cusco
Head out to explore Inca sites surrounding Cusco, including the stunning imperial baths at Tambomachay and the venerated huaca (shrine).  Walk the ramparts of the massive Sacsayhuaman fortress.

Day 3-4 Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu, the Lost City.  We'll enjoy brunch on the Hiram Bingham Orient Express as we travel in luxury from Cusco to Machu Picchu.  Perched on the edge of a sheer precipice above the Urubamba River, Machu Picchu is a stunning city of stone.  Enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience of the lost city, exploring the Inca trails.  We'll spend two nights at the famous Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge, the only hotel right at the ruins.  One of the most dramatic settings in the world, if offers supreme sunrise views and Machu Picchu at your doorstep.

Day 5 Cusco & Sacred Valley
The magnificent Urubamba Valley, a dramatic corridor through the high Andes, is filled with traditional Quechua villages and an array of amazing Inca ceremonial sites in fantastic settings.  Explore Pisac, the largest fortress-city complex of the Incas.  Climb up to the grand stone ruins of majestic Ollantaytambo.  Revisit your favorite places in Cusco and discover new ones.

Day 6 Depart Cusco

Per person, based on double occupancy, including all land transportation and private guides throughout, breakfast daily and all meals at the Sanctuary Lodge.
